Assistant Manager, Altitude

Altitude is seeking for a dedicated and passionate Assistant Manager to join our team and help us continue to elevate the standards of excellence in hospitality. 

 

Job Summary

 

As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for the overall administration and operation of Altitude Restaurant on Level 36 to achieve maximum profitability by maintaining high colleague performance and ensuring complete guest satisfaction through the provision of the highest quality food and beverage service.

 

Key Responsibilies

  • Adhere to and ensure that all colleagues in each reporting department follow the Hotel procedures for security and fire.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Hotel Policies, Procedures and Standards relating to WHS and Injury Management are maintained.
  • Responsible to ensure the sound communication within the outlets to ensure that all colleagues are fully conversant with hotel facilities, activities, special functions including effective pre-shift briefing sessions and product knowledge within the outlet.
  • Oversee function set up requirements to ensure that they meet client and the events team specifications. Personally, supervises prestigious events.
  • Handle guest complaints promptly and diplomatically, bringing all complaints to the attention of the Director of Food and Beverage.
  • Review and implement service guidelines every quarter to maximise guest satisfaction and ensure compliance with the Shangri-La Experience
  • Liaise closely with the Event Management team and all other hotel departments regarding the overall preparation and requirements of any functions held in Altitude Restaurant and will be available at all times to participate in client negotiations if and when required.
  • Liaise with the Chef de Cuisine- Altitude to ensure sound communication between the kitchen and service colleagues.
  • Manage and ensures that all restaurant opening and closing duties are carried out in accordance with the established procedure
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Director of Food and Beverage or the Assistant Directors - Food & Beverage.
  • Maintain adequate stock of operating equipment; linens, glassware, china, cutlery and silverware in the outlets.
  • Attend all scheduled Food and Beverage Department and Hotel Department Head meetings.
  • Monitor closely the business forecast and keeps colleagues at the required optimal level to maximise payroll costs.

About You

  • Unrestricted working rights to Australia 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven experience in a fine dining restaurant, with at least 2 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Experience in 5-star hotel environment
  • RSA certification is required.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • An understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
