The hotel features 564 spacious luxury guest rooms and suites, four food and beverage outlets, and 18 function and event spaces. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Banquets Supervisor to join the Banquets Service team at Shangri-La Sydney. About the RoleReporting to the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage and the Banquet Services Manager, the Banquets Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing the daily banquet operations while ensuring the highest standards of service and efficiency. This position supports the smooth delivery of events and functions, maximising guest satisfaction and operational profitability. Key responsibilities include: Supervise and coordinate daily banquet operations, including function set-up, service delivery, and the Banquet Bar Ensure all function rooms are prepared according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including room setup, AV, cleanliness, temperature, and signage Lead, assign, and support Banquet Service colleagues to deliver high service standards and smooth event execution Liaise with Banquet Sales, hotel departments, and event hosts to ensure all function requirements are met Maintain compliance with service standards, WH&S requirements, equipment par levels, and operational procedures
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have: Previous supervisory experience within a hotel or premium hospitality environment Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English A sound understanding of Work Health & Safety practices A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
