Shangri-La Sydney is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Bar Manager to join our Blu Bar team. As the Assistant Bar Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bar, creating memorable moments for our guests, and supporting our Bar Manager in maintaining high standards of quality and service. About the Role Maintains consistency in quality of food and beverage service / cleanliness of sections appointed. Performs quality checks during operations to ensure satisfaction. Driver of SFSMS policies and adherence to Shangri-La policies. - Ensures cooperation and smooth communication between staff in sections appointed and other departments
Monitors and ensures smooth operations of the sections appointed in Blu Bar. Obtains customer feedback during operations to ensure satisfaction and proper and tactful handling of verbal complaints from guests. To be aware of and applies the procedures concerning hotel fire and life safety / emergency procedures. Ensures staff applies the necessary precautions with regards to the hotel food safety and hygiene standards (refer to SLIM standards indicated in the F&B intranet). Ensures Blu Bar on 36 is fully compliant with all requirements in accordance to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and all the Shangri-La Food Safety Management System Policies. Conducts staff training when required. - Assist in any other tasks is specified by Food and Beverage Management.
About You - Unrestricted working rights to Australia
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven experience in bartending, with at least 2 years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong knowledge of beverage preparation, mixology, and bar operations
- Experience in 5-star hotel environment
- RSA certification is required.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
- An understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
