At Shangri-La Sydney, we believe every detail matters. As a Host/Hostess at Altitude Restaurant, you’ll play a key role in creating memorable first impressions and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.
What you’ll do:
Greet guests warmly, communicate approximate wait times, and manage seating queues to ensure a smooth flow of guests.
Maintain a seating plan and ensure guests are seated promptly, according to arrival order.
Ensure tables are properly set before seating guests and maintain a high level of presentation throughout service.
Communicate with service staff to ensure efficient service, accurate orders, and correct charges to guests.
Uphold the dress standards for patrons, following the guidelines set by the Director of Food and Beverage.
Assist service staff in delivering excellent guest service when required.
Report guest complaints or service concerns promptly to the Service Leader or Service Manager.
Ensure an adequate supply of menus and wine lists are available and presented to guests to the highest standard.
Farewell guests with a warm and inviting message, ensuring they look forward to returning.
What makes you perfect for this role:
Knowledge of the Liquor Act and responsible alcohol service (RSA certification required).
Strong communication skills and the ability to manage guest expectations.
A keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining high presentation standards.
Ability to stay organized and efficient during busy service periods.
Flexibility to assist with various tasks and training programs as needed.
