At Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Coordinator to support our Sales and Marketing department. The Hotel Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is a luxury five-star hotel located beside Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns. With 255 guest rooms, 18 function venues and extensive food and beverage facilities, the hotel is part of a leading international company with more than 100 hotels and resorts worldwide. The Role As the Sales Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of all sales activities within your designated area of responsibility. This role also provides comprehensive administrative support to the Sales Team. About you: Previous experience in a sales coordination or administrative support role, ideally within the hospitality industry. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage correspondence, filing systems, and reporting efficiently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in handling client enquiries via phone and email. Detail-oriented and proactive in preparing purchase orders, maintaining departmental records, and ensuring office organization. Professional presentation and the ability to meet and greet VIP guests and groups with warmth and confidence. Skilled in conducting site inspections and gathering information for VIP familiarisation reports. Strong awareness of market trends and competitor activities, with the ability to provide relevant feedback to the Director of Sales. Collaborative team player who can effectively support Sales Managers and coordinate with other departments. Capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency. Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a positive attitude in all interactions with clients and colleagues. Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to assist in ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
