Join our team at Altitude Restaurant or Café Mix and help deliver exceptional dining experiences while enjoying breathtaking views of the Sydney skyline.

At Shangri-La Sydney, we believe every detail matters. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a warm and welcoming first impression while ensuring a seamless and memorable dining experience from arrival to departure.

What you’ll do:

• Greet guests warmly, communicate approximate wait times, and manage seating queues to ensure a smooth flow of guests.
• Maintain a seating plan and ensure guests are seated promptly, according to arrival order.
• Ensure tables are properly set before seating guests and maintain a high level of presentation throughout service.
• Communicate with service staff to ensure efficient service, accurate orders, and correct charges to guests.
• Uphold the dress standards for patrons, following the guidelines set by the Director of Food and Beverage.
• Assist service staff in delivering excellent guest service when required.
• Report guest complaints or service concerns promptly to the Service Leader or Service Manager.
• Ensure an adequate supply of menus and wine lists are available and presented to guests to the highest standard.
• Farewell guests with a warm and inviting message, ensuring they look forward to returning.

What makes you perfect for this role:

• Knowledge of the Liquor Act and responsible alcohol service (RSA certification required).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage guest expectations.
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining high presentation standards.
• Ability to stay organized and efficient during busy service periods.
